In Rebuild she looks at dwelling in Vancouver. Her past is dominated by the dispossession of her family during the internment of the Japanese is WW II, but the city's past is dominated by the dispossession of the First Nations people of their traditional lands.

Currently another dispossession has a grip on the city as the real estate boom and investors have created thousands of Condo units in the city, 17,000 of which remain empty.
