Description

Annie is a young high-flying London career woman, grieving for her late grandfather, and as a result, struggles to hold her life together.

One day, whilst visiting a war memorial by the river Thames with her boyfriend, something sinister happens, which frightens Annie beyond measure.

With no surviving family to support her and questioning her own sanity, her life spirals out of control. Everywhere she looks, Annie sees echoes from the past and eventually she falls in love in a deep, passionate and slightly desperate way with ghosts from the world her grandfather had inhabited as a young RAF fighter pilot in WW2.

With Annie's materialistic world crumbling, isolation and emotional conflict start to drown and overwhelm her. Imagining she has travelled back in time to the world she has heard so many stories about from her grandfather, she becomes entwined in a different life in WW2.

Her imagination now seems to have become reality. But has she really slipped into the past, or is it all symptomatic of a troubled mind?

Is she trapped in an alternative world, and if so, does she want to return to the familiar twenty-first century?
