Originating in ancient India, Om (or Aum) is a Sanskrit word that represents the seed of creation, everything that is in existence. Om is also considered the seed sound from which all other sounds are derived. This sacred syllable is commonly used in Hindu prayers and chants as well as in the opening and closing of Yoga classes.
