Flucticulus, Hardback Book

Flucticulus Hardback

Description

Waves are found in various areas of life. There are acoustic sound waves, mechanical waves in physics, Mexican waves in football stadiums or waves in the water.

The one thing they have all in common is their dynamic and power which arises from the movement of waves.

Thomas Kellner is a photo artist known for his photographs of seemingly `dancing' architectural exteriors and interiors, often of tourist attractions around the world.

Often copied, his work is unique due to his artistic method which he calls ` visual analytic synthesis`, in which he does not just take one shot, but a number, all carefully planned to create a picture out of the various contact sheets. Often described as Cubism, his work, which usually involved an architectural feature, both constructs and deconstructs the prime image, allowing the viewer to look at segments of the total, and then combine them into a single image.

His project "flucticulus" breaks with his familiar creational method.

He explains that waves are everywhere, from the sea to the Mexican wave; all of them bring dynamism and power through their movement.

These forces are captured in Kellner`s new work.
