I really recommend this series. A teenage boy helps direct souls in the afterlife to soul society where they can live peacefully. Only Hollows (corrupted souls) get in the way and even harm innocent souls. Ichigo relies on friends and family to fight for what is right.

I have started to notice slight variances between the anime and manga. That's okay with me, because I’m able to understand some things better as I'm reading through these volumes. Civil war is breaking out! The Soul Society is in complete chaos, with half the Soul Reapers behind the execution and the other half trying to stop it. We've come a long way from Volume Eleven where the decision seemed to be unanimous. And we still don't know the details behind Azien's death and Ichimaru's sinister smile. You'd think the suspense couldn't get any higher, but then it does.
