Tom spends his first seven years in Pennsylvania while his father explores what is to become the state of Michigan.

Tom spends a winter in Richland, Ohio and travels to the Michigan wilderness where his life is intertwined with Chief Baw Beese and his son of the Potawatomi Indian nation.

Reaching manhood he travels with his younger sister to Kansas, meets his wife and travels over the Santa Fe & Cherokee Trail to his homestead in Colorado where their life is intermingled with the Arapaho Indians.

He spends the rest of his life in Colorado. This is his story and the stories of his descendants which include Theodore Roosevelt, the Spanish American War, World War I and II, Floods and actual events on the Front Range of the Colorado Mountains up and to the 1960's
