Edward Hartley Angle (1er juin 1855 - 11 aout 1930) etait un dentiste americain, largement considere comme "le pere de l'orthodontie americaine".

Il a recu une formation de dentiste, mais a fait de l'orthodontie sa specialite et a consacre sa vie a la normalisation de l'enseignement et de la pratique de l'orthodontie.

Il a fonde l'Angle School of Orthodontia (1900) a Saint-Louis et des ecoles dans d'autres regions des Etats-Unis."Personne ne peut savoir grand-chose de la science s'il ne comprend pas son histoire". - Edward H Angle.
