In 1980s Britain, diligent film censor Enid Baines (Algar) notices parallels between a so-called video nasty and a traumatic incident from her past.

Convinced that her sister, who has been missing for 20 years, makes an appearance in the horror film, Enid seeks out the film's producer in her obsessive search for answers.
