Joaquin Sorolla Beach More : Hardcover, Hardback Book

Joaquin Sorolla Beach More : Hardcover Hardback

Hardback

Description

Joaquin Sorolla (born in Valencia 1863 - died in Cercedilla 1923) is one of the most successful Spanish painters ever. He was a genius in capturing the essence of the scene he was painting.

The best way to describe this book is to refer to the painting "Capturing the Moment" or "Instantanea, Biarritz" from 1906. Joaquin Sorolla was not afraid for the photographic camera. On the contrary, he was trained with it and it influenced his paintings deeply.

Another way is as the title emply to say more of the same beloved art from Sorolla's hand.

Many of the paintings in this volume are "impressions", rough sketches for more of Sorolla's wonderful beach scenes. They are not finished impressionist paintings but instantaneous moments Sorolla captured for memory and perhaps future use. Unfortunately, Sorolla died and could not finish these captivating sketches.
