Lamb (1775-1834) was an English essayist, poet and antiquarian best known for his Essays of Elia and the children's book Tales from Shakespeare, co-authored with his sister Mary (1764-1847).

This biographical work looks at the various locations where Lamb lived and worked and includes a comprehensive bibliography of his works.

The illustrations are by two of the leading illustrators of their day who contributed to numerous books and magazines.
