About the Author:
A trailblazer in aviation, Sharon shattered the glass ceiling as US Airways' first female pilot in 1980, a time when women pilots constituted less than 0.5% of the global total. Sharon skillfully piloted an array of aircraft, including Boeing 727s and 737s, DC-9s, and BAC 1-11s, ascending to the rank of captain in just seven years.
