The Forest of the Future Paperback / softback

Illustrated by Bruno Iradukunda

Part of the Many Stars One Moon series

Paperback / softback

Description

The Forest of the Future is a magical story of friendship, understanding, respect for mother nature. This story helps shape the perspective of kids around the world to better understand climate change and the impact it has on not just our landscape and environment but also those of our neighbors across the globe.

The Forest of the Future is part of the Many Stars One Moon series. A world-changing series that uses the power of stories to create global connections, share culture, and increase diversity and representation in children's stories. The book is proudly produced by NABU in collaboration with Belletrist. Founded by actress Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss, Belletrist celebrates great books and the people who read them. This led to a natural partnership with NABU, a global literacy non-profit that provides access to quality, culturally relevant mother tongue language storybooks for children in low- income countries, by commissioning local artists and writers to create these books.

All of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go to support local authors and illustrators and NABU reading programs in East Africa. NABU is a non-profit organization with a mission to solve the imbalance in the creation and distribution of children's books globally, so all children can read and rise to their full potential. NABU Publishing exists to share unique original children's stories from authors and illustrators living in Haiti and on the African continent. NABU Publishing aims to increase diversity and representation in children's stories in the US and to ensure that all children are exposed to stories from different cultures around the world.

The Many Stars One Moon series will support the creation of locally-made mother tongue language books for 250M underserved children. 40% of children worldwide do not have access to books in their mother tongue language, even though native-language instruction is the most cost-effective intervention in early-grade literacy, helping children to reap the benefits of education. A digital copy of this book will be made available in Swahili, Kinyarwanda, and many more languages in digital format for free to over 100,000 readers accessing NABU's low bandwidth reading application in Rwanda, Kenya, and Haiti.
