Thrill Seeker Comics Archive Collection - Volume One : Pulp Action & Adventure Anthology Featuring Yellow Jacket: Man of Mystery and the Emerald Mantis Paperback / softback

Edited by Erik Burnham

Part of the Thrill Seeker Comics Archive Collection series

Paperback / softback

Description

This is the definitive collection of the earliest THRILL SEEKER COMICS™ work by writer/artist Ryan Scott McCullar (GREEN ARROW® SECRET FILES), introducing readers to the trouble-loving vigilante of the Deep South known as the YELLOW JACKET: MAN OF MYSTERY™ and the dynasty of martial artists who don the mask of THE EMERALD MANTIS™.

This introductory collection sets the foundation for an entire pulp universe inspired by hard-boiled noir tales, 1970’s kung-fu flicks, war films and grindhouse movie hijinks mixed with the feel of classic comic book sensibilities. While it isn’t intended for young kiddies, THRILL SEEKER COMICS™ is a frenetic mix of humor, bloody violence and reclamation of the soul aimed at mature readers that love blood and guts-style brutal action.

This first volume collects not only the THRILL SEEKER COMICS™ short stories previously published in SHOOTING STAR COMICS ANTHOLOGY™ #1-6 and FANZING PRESENTS: JOB WANTED, but also a serialized weekly online webstrip and a previously unreleased war story from the cancelled SHOOTING STAR COMICS ANTHOLOGY™ #7. One highlight of this collection includes guest-writer Erik Burnham (GHOSTBUSTERS®) contributing a brutal tale of comeuppance.

These stories appear for the first time with “director’s cut” expanded scenes that reboots a new continuity. Meticulous digital coloring has been added to the originally printed black and white stories that have also been remastered with additional art and revamped dialogue.

This archive also features commentary and a gallery of guest-pin up artwork by Martheus Antone Wade (JETTA: TALES OF THE TOSHIGAWA™), Todd Fox (THE PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL™), Richarld Kohlrus (TREASURE ISLAND) and other creative artists from around the globe.
