Description

Amma Asante directs this WWII drama starring Amandla Stenberg as a biracial girl living in Germany during the rise of Nazism.

As tensions heighten Leyna (Stenberg) and her mother move to Berlin to better blend in to their surroundings and evade the attention of the authorities, however it is not long before her peers at school begin to display their mistrust toward her and she becomes increasingly worried about being taken away.

Matters are complicated further when she falls for Nazi soldier Lutz (George MacKay), who puts his own life on the line in an attempt to keep her safe.

Can Leyna keep both she and her family safe and will she find a way to be with Lutz without risking it all?
