Sor Juana's Second Dream : A Novel Paperback / softback
by Alicia Gaspar de Alba
Paperback / softback
Description
Sor Juana Ines De La Cruz (1648-1695) was a self-taught scholar, poet, and author from San Miguel de Nepantla, Mexico.
Often referred to as the first feminist of the Americas, Sor Juana held discussions about natural science with intellectuals in her private suite in the Convent of San Jeronimo and spent much of her time writing on topics dealing with what are now called ""women's rights."" Still revered in Mexican culture for her feminist literary skills, she is considered the Tenth Muse and her image appears on Mexico's one-thousand peso banknote.
