The year is 2363. The remnants of humanity are living on "Quest", a large space station that has housed the last members of the human race since its near extinction hundreds of years ago. When the station is found to be on a collision course with a supernova, Captain William Scarborough and other members of the station scramble to survive in a deadly escape mission to a nearby planet. The only problem: the station's escape craft can't rescue everyone.
Concurrently, Jason Acker is not only struggling with the possible termination of his species, but with his own mind as well. The closer he and his family come to death, the closer Jason comes to going mad. He, along with his family, are led on an action-packed journey filled with sexual desire, deception and gore. Along the journey, Jason is confronted by a religious cult, his lustful spouse Fiona and the most horrifying decision of all; whether or not to give into his own demonic desires.
The clock is ticking for the Acker family and the rest of humanity and a decision must be made on what is more dangerous; the supernova or Jason himself.
Beneath The Surface is an action-packed fiction novel that gives readers a dystopian look into the future while still providing them with context around the real-world problems of infidelity, mental illness, and trust. Ideally, this book will be the first in a planned series.
