Gender provides one of the most frequently recurring theoretical frameworks taught in undergraduate English courses today.
From specific Gender Studies modules, to more broadly historical or thematic approaches, from creative writing workshops, to English Language topic modules, questions of gender permeate the English Studies classroom. 'Gender', however, is a broad umbrella, covering an exciting but complex and occasionally contradictory field of study, and the teacher of gender theory must engage with texts and politics, theory and practice.
