A groundbreaking positive mental health book: how to THRIVE rather than survive mental illness...

After speaking with psychotherapist Wayne Kemp for a year and seeing the increasing popularity of self-help and mental health books, writer David Hurst knew Wayne's experience, methods and message had to be shared. David was seeing a growing number of people struggling with various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, addiction, alcoholism, OCD, PTSD and bipolar. But he also noted that the books being read by a vast amount of these people were talking about merely coping or surviving with their mental health struggle, with no offer of any sort of solution.

In a series of interviews, David asked Wayne more than 500 questions on all aspects of mental health. Wayne's answers are astounding and life-transforming.

His pioneering methods show that mental illness is actually the message for people to make changes, that the emotional pain and the problems it brings are in fact delivering a clear communication that should be embraced in order for us to progress in the way we need. They are an urging to grow, so that we can live a life to its full potential.

Wayne explains how ignoring this or masking it with drugs - prescribed or illegal - is going completely the wrong way. Resistance to the pain that we call mental illness is the real problem. Physical pain is always for a reason that is telling us to either move away, make a change and/or do something differently. Mental and emotional pain is exactly the same.

Yet the vast majority of mental health books available now offer descriptions merely of what it's like in the dark hole of mental illness - and possibly how to stop digging deeper, then what to do to survive a life in the dark hole. Both Wayne and David have been down deep in the dark hole and explain how to escape from it, and then how to use the experience to live much more successfully - with more meaning and more happiness than was ever previously known.

The Anxiety Conversation shows not how to survive a mental illness but how to overcome and thrive from it, to become the person you're supposed to be.
