Description

Splatters of the Heart is a collection of poems written while I was in an emotionally and financially abusive place that operated like a church. There was a specific young man that provided care, comfort and solace while I was there. A few poems are dedicated to him, while others outline my experiences of disillusionment and despair.

 

Writing poetry has always been an effective coping mechanism that I've used to express feelings of love and dissolve feelings anger and confusion.

 

Splatters of the Heart will give you a candid look into my life and hopefully provide insight regarding my experiences.

 

Each poem is accompanied by a paint splatter to represent that life may splatter like spilled paint, but if you put a frame around it, it becomes art.
