Malbrook, Paperback / softback Book

Malbrook Paperback / softback

Paperback / softback

Description

A sixteen-year-old black youth is attacked and beaten by members of a high school fraternity at the end of the first week of school in 1980. The brothers are stopped by Alex Moran, a fraternity brother from a neighboring chapter who steps in and breaks it up, but not until the damage has been inflicted. Alex is identified by the victim and is sought by both the victim and his rogue fraternity brothers who have adopted a neo-Nazi ideology with the idea of ridding their town of Jews and minorities while Alex's chapter has decided to admit black students-who are mostly new to the town-as members.
High school life in 1980 in the small town of Malbrook on Long Island provides the backdrop for the three separate groups of friends who are all looking at the situation through their own unique circumstances.
A night of mayhem ensues in which members of the rogue chapter burn down a temple and cause chaos in the Jewish community. To complicate matters, the victim's cousin and three friends are in Malbrook seeking revenge against the attackers and are soon sought for the fire and the beating of one of the victim's attackers.
As detectives close in on the real culprits, one final showdown occurs where all three groups are brought together to settle things once and for all.
