Hun er byggð a skrifum Theodors Arnasonar sem var islenskur tonlistarmaður.

Fjallað er um lif tonskalda og verk þeirra. Bokin kom fyrst ut arið 1966. Theodor Arnason faeddist 10. desember 1889. Hann olst upp a Seyðisfirði þar sem hann laerði a a fiðlu sem barn.

Hann starfaði sem hljomsveitarstjori i kvikmyndahusi i Winnipeg og laerði hljomlist i Kaupmannahofn.

Hann er Islendingum þo þekktastur sem rithofundur og þyðandi.

Hann þyddi m.a. nokkur Grimsaevintyri auk þess sem hann skrifaði um helstu tonsnillinga heimsins.
