Howard Hodgkin, Hardback Book

Howard Hodgkin Hardback

Hardback

Description

This title studies the evolution and changes in style of Howard Hodgkins paintings.

Sir Gordon Howard Eliot Hodgkin (1932) is a British painter and printmaker.

His first solo show was in London in 1962. In 1984, he represented Britain at the Venice Biennale, in 1985 he won the Turner Prize, and in 1992 he was knighted.

His early paintings tend to be made up of hard-edged curved forms in a limited number of colors.

Around the beginning of the 1970s, his style became more spontaneous, with vaguely recognizable shapes presented in bright colors and bold forms.

This volume shows up Howard Hodgkin as a painter of emotional situations and experienced landscapes.
