Foundational Engineering Graphics : Principles and Applications, Paperback / softback Book

Foundational Engineering Graphics : Principles and Applications Paperback / softback

Paperback / softback

Description

The Foundational Engineering Graphics: Principles and Applications material was developed by the collaborative work of multiple universities. The content is intended to encourage a deeper understanding of engineering graphics concepts with increased engagement to promote student mastery as well as self-efficacy. These materials provide enhanced relevance
of engineering graphics by demonstrating real-world examples of how engineering graphics can be applied. Through the Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) project, online active learning modules were developed and integrated into introductory engineering graphics courses. Positive results of the active learning modules acting as a supplemental
resource in the engineering graphics course led to the modules being transformed into a book format available to the public for use in building skills in engineering graphics.

The 10 units available cover the foundational elements of sketching, engineering geometry, orthographic and pictorial projections, working drawings, the standardizations and annotations of dimensioning, assemblies, as well as section and auxiliary views. Along with content, each unit involves activities for practice in applying learned concepts, reflection questions for students to use in identifying examples seen in the world, as well as quiz questions for knowledge assessment.
