Nearly every school district has one. A place for teenagers to go to school after thetraditional high school determines there is nothing further they could do to bring youth withrisk factors across the finish line to graduation. Alternative Education; where those kids go toschool. The ones who learn differently, have attendance and/or behavioral issues, are behind
from failing high school courses, pregnant, or have been bullied to the point of despair,impacting their ability to concentrate on learning and succeed in high school. Sometimesthese adolescents are stereotyped as the bad kids, and high school staff (not all) give up ontrying any longer to serve their needs.The stigma or stereotyping of alternative education students is an issue of social justice.
