Atheism: A Very Short Introduction, Paperback Book
4.5 out of 5 (2 ratings)

Atheism is often considered to be a negative, dark, and pessimistic belief which is characterized by a rejection of values and purpose and a fierce opposition to religion.

Atheism: A Very Short Introduction sets out to dispel the myths that surround atheism and show how a life without religious belief can be positive, meaningful, and moral.

It also confronts the failure of officially atheist states in the Twentieth Century.

The book presents an intellectual case for atheism that rests as much upon positive arguments for its truth as on negative arguments against religion.

Written by a knowledgable atheist. It was an easy read, it was a good learning tool, and it was a good argument for atheism (as good as one can expect).

A very concise explanation of atheism. The author attempts to move beyond the simple "disbelief in god" stance and into what might be called the "average atheist world view". No doubt many atheists would disagree with much of what is written in this book, but I think that overall, it accurately describes what the majority of atheists believe and disbelieve.
