Nothing wonderful, but good stories. The one with the dolphins actually has Modesty lose a fight - not permanently, but he did get the drop on her. The title story is odd - a bit of history, which is always nice, and then Modesty solves a problem and causes another. The biggest hole was that neither Modesty nor Willie thought that the guy was like Willie except using his power of fascination for women for evil. I liked the third one best - the villians were weird, the setup was even more so, but the frame - Modesty trying to keep Maude and Willie out of things so their vacation wouldn't be interrupted (again) - was neat. Overall, not one of my favorites but good stories, and all new to me.

As always, BCL obliges me. 3 stories - Dossier on Pluto, The Lady Killers, Gravin's Travels. The Pluto in the story is hardly the planet rather Modesty's pet dolphins. Book also has some rare clips - last of those drawn by Jim Holdaway - published only once in Glasgow Evening Citizen.
