Read on November 01, 2014Liked the drawings a lot, but would a little girl who loves to draw really handle her younger brother destroying her art to re-purpose it for his own? I guess that's the lesson...

Bespectacled Louise is an artist who draws and draws and draws, her work covering the floor of her house. Nearby is her brother and her cat, who poses and becomes the subject of many a piece. The illustrations add a whole other layer to the text with cat's pose as the thinker and reclining figure, reminiscent of great works of art. And that's what Louise seeks to produce: her greatest masterpiece. While she hangs her art show, taping drawings to every available surface, ignoring her brother turns out not to be a good idea. He has ideas of his own as to what to do with his sister's masterpiece. Clever illustrations, sophisticated text make this a piece de resistance.

I love this book and so does my daughter!! Its about a little girl that loves to draw and her little brother "ART" (play on words) "destroys" her masterpiece. She is mad at first, but then forgives him and tells him that she loves it. I also liked that the little girl, Louise, drew in only black ink with white paper and her brother Art drew in red ink.

Louise loves art and Art. Charming and witty with a sweet sibling dynamic.
